Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Technology

The TCU Department of Computer Science was created in 1981. The department's bachelors degree programs in computer science and computer information technology aim to provide students with a broad base of knowledge which will allow them to work and advance in the rapidly expanding high-technology field of computer science or to go on to advanced studies at the graduate level if they so choose.

At the present time the department has approximately 60 undergraduates majoring in computer science or computer information technology. An additional 10 to 20 students are pursuing a minor. In order to maintain a quality program, the department's curriculum is reviewed on a regular basis to ensure that it reflects the latest advances in this rapidly changing field. To achieve this, the department adheres closely to the recommendations of professional organizations such as the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Computer Society.

The program in computer science is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, 111 Market Place, Suite 1050, Baltimore, MD 21202-4012 - telephone: 410-347-7700.
