Advising Information
Freshmen students entering in Fall 2005 and later and transfer students
entering in Fall 2007 and later must follow the TCU Core Curriculum (CC).
Other students must follow the University Curriculum Requirements (UCR).
- BS in Computer Science (CoSc)
This program is modeled after the recommendations
of the ACM (Association of Computing Machinery)
and the IEEE-CS (Computer Society of the Institute
for Electrical and Electronics Engineers). The
program emphasizes course work in systems software,
data structures, computer graphics, compilers,
operating systems, computer architecture, and
other theoretical areas. The program focuses
on the development of new computer technology
and is the recommended program for students who
plan to pursue graduate studies in the computing
sciences.
- BS in Computer Information Technology (CIT)
This program focuses on the application of
computer technology (both hardware and
software) in the workplace. While there
is some overlap of courses between the
two programs, the BSCIT degree includes
courses in system and network administration,
interface design and scripting fundamentals,
database administration, and project management.
